Scania truck hits a pedestrian at a crossing on the Kupiškis–Utena road
On Monday, 7 October 2013, in the evening at around 18:00, in Utenos district municipality, Atkočiškių village, on the Kupiškis–Utena national road (kilometre 51), a Scania R 480 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 62-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Scania (13 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
