Driver flees after hitting a pedestrian at a crossing at S. Žukausko and Žygio streets, Vilnius
On Monday, 23 December 2013, in the evening at 19:19, in Vilnius, on S. Žukausko street, at the junction with Žygio street, a car hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 16-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
