On Wednesday, 17 September 2014, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Šilutės district municipality, Metirkviečių village, on the Šilalė–Šilutė national road (kilometre 47.50), an Audi 80 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Audi, who violated overtaking rules. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober.
