On Sunday, 7 December 2014, in the evening at 20:55, in Akmenės district municipality, on the Naujoji Akmenė–Venta national road (kilometre 3.15), an Opel Vectra ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 32-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 40-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Opel (9 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk.
