On Saturday, 20 December 2014, in the morning at 8:57, in Panevėžys, on Respublikos g. 71, a Volvo V40 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Volvo (22 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (0.47‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
