Drunk Jeep driver hits a parked Infiniti on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus road
On Monday, 16 February 2015, in the afternoon at 14:30, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 19.52), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Jeep Grand Cherokee and an Infiniti FX 35. One person was injured — the 36-year-old driver of the Infiniti (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Jeep (22 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (0.65‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
