Drunk, unlicensed driver flees after hitting a pedestrian in Didžiulių village
On Wednesday, 25 March 2015, in the afternoon at 15:02, in Raseinių district municipality, Didžiulių village, on Jaunimo street near No. 8, a BMW 318 hit a pedestrian. One person was injured — a 34-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 38-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.51‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
