On Wednesday, 22 April 2015, in the evening at 18:23, in Kazlų Rūdos municipality, on the Kazlų Rūda–Pažėrai regional road (kilometre 0.45), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6, an Opel Omega and an Audi 80. Three people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Audi A6 (treated as an outpatient), the 33-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and the 62-year-old driver of the Audi 80 (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Audi A6 (5 years of driving experience), who violated overtaking rules and failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
