On Saturday, 8 August 2015, in the evening at 18:20, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Kuršėnų aplinkkelis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) national road, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Pontiac Firebird and a Mercedes-Benz E250. Three people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Pontiac (hospitalized), a 33-year-old passenger of the Pontiac (treated as an outpatient) and a 5-year-old passenger of the Mercedes-Benz (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Pontiac (3 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection.
