On Thursday, 14 July 2016, in the afternoon at 16:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 113.80), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Honda Accord Tourer, a Schmitz Cargobull SKO24 registered in Estonia and a Mercedes-Benz Actros 1844 Bluetec 5 registered in Estonia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Honda (13 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
