Audi and Skoda crash on the Klaipėda–Jokūbavas road
On Thursday, 20 October 2016, in the evening at 18:18, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Žemgrindžių village, on the Klaipėda–Jokūbavas national road (kilometre 8.80), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Audi 100 and a Skoda Fabia. One person died — the 65-year-old driver of the Skoda (later died from the injuries). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Audi (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober.
