DAF FT truck and Schmitz crash on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Tuesday, 15 November 2016, at night at 4:10, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 83.10), a DAF FT XF105.460 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the DAF (20 years of driving experience). The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
