On Sunday, 19 March 2017, in the evening at 17:45, in Kelmės district municipality, Šaukėnų town, on Laisvės street near No. 35, an Opel Omega hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Opel (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.25‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene.
