On Friday, 1 December 2017, in the afternoon at 16:55, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 97.40), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat, an Audi Q5, a Mitsubishi Pajero and an Opel Vectra Station Wagon. One person was injured — the 40-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober.
