Unlicensed Renault driver in crash with Volvo on Vilniaus g., Mickūnų town

On Sunday, 18 February 2018, in the evening at 20:34, in Vilniaus district municipality, Mickūnų town, on Vilniaus street, at the junction with Darželių street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Renault 19 and a Volvo V70. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Renault (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
