On Friday, 20 April 2018, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 6.09), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 and a Skoda Superb. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volvo (12 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
