On Saturday, 18 January 2020, in the morning at 10:19, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 5.40), a collision occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Ducato, an Opel Zafira and a Renault Laguna. Two people were injured — the 38-year-old driver of the Opel (severely injured, hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 33-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Fiat (1 year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. All drivers were sober.
