Volvo S60 and Opel crash in Laužo village
On Friday, 27 July 2018, in the morning at 9:35, in Tauragės district municipality, Laužo village, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volvo S60 and an Opel Vectra Station Wagon. Two people were injured — the 20-year-old driver of the Volvo (hospitalized) and the 24-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volvo (1 year of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
