DAF truck hits an obstacle on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Thursday, 17 January 2019, in the morning at 8:40, in Rietavo municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 251.60), a DAF hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the DAF (15 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
