On Tuesday, 14 April 2020, in the evening at 19:51, in Ignalinos district municipality, Dietkauščiznos village, on the Ignalina–Didžiasalis national road (kilometre 23), an Audi A3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Audi (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.53‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
