On Friday, 17 April 2020, at night at 3:30, in Šilutės district municipality, on Laisvės alley near No. 5, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 6 and a Renault Megane Scenic. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
