Mazda MPV and two other vehicles crash in Lomių village
On Monday, 3 August 2020, in the evening at 18:55, in Tauragės district municipality, Lomių village, on Mokyklos street, a collision with a bicycle occurred. The collision involved a Mazda MPV and two bicycles. Two people were injured — a 15-year-old cyclist (hospitalized) and a 11-year-old cyclist (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Mazda (23 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
