Volkswagen Passat and BMW crash on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda road
On Wednesday, 13 January 2021, in the afternoon at 11:07, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 203.45), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a BMW. Two people were injured — the 56-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober.
