Hit-and-run Rover driver runs off the road on the Daugai–Skabeikiai–Dusmenys road
On Friday, 8 July 2022, in the evening at 21:25, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Daugai–Skabeikiai–Dusmenys regional road (kilometre 4.11), a Rover 75 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Rover (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
