On Saturday, 10 December 2022, in the evening at 22:40, in Vilniaus district municipality, Melkio village, on Antano Giedraičio street near No. 158, a Toyota RAV4 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 56-year-old driver of the Toyota (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
