On Friday, 12 April 2024, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Šilalės district municipality, Labardžių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 225), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Citroen C5 and an Audi A5. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 78-year-old driver of the Citroen (45 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
