On Wednesday, 3 September 2025, in the evening at 17:34, in Biržų district municipality, on the Paliūniškis–Vabalninkas national road (kilometre 28.18), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Signum and a Class. One person was injured — the 30-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to obey traffic-control signals. He was drunk and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
