BMW 320D and Merlo loader crash in Burvelių village
On Saturday, 20 December 2025, in the afternoon at 11:30, in Panevėžio district municipality, Burvelių village, on the Vilainiai–Šventybrastis–Krekenava regional road (kilometre 20.84), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 320D and a Merlo. Four people were injured — the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 32-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 26-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient) and a 58-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the BMW (8 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
