Rover and Chrysler crash on the Vilnius–Lyda road
On Saturday, 5 January 2013, in the afternoon at 16:14, in Vilniaus district municipality, Rudaminos village, on the Vilnius–Lyda main road (kilometre 18), a head-on collision while overtaking occurred. The collision involved a Rover 620 and a Chrysler Grand Voyager. One person was injured — the 54-year-old driver of the Chrysler (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Rover (6 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
