On Friday, 10 January 2014, in the evening at 18:20, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 14.40), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 54-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by an unidentified person. He fled the scene.
