On Thursday, 15 May 2014, in the evening at 18:19, in Elektrėnų municipality, Naujųjų Kietaviškių village, on Bažnyčios street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Scania R 94 GB registered in Latvia and an Opel Astra. Two people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the Opel (hospitalized) and the 42-year-old driver of the Opel (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Latvia) (36 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
