On Tuesday, 20 January 2015, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 5.50), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Kangoo, a Mazda Premacy and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the Renault (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
