Volvo V40 driver hits a parked BMW and flees on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Thursday, 31 August 2017, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kauno district municipality, Kumpių village, on Verslo street near No. 13, at a gas station, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V40 and a BMW 330Cd. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volvo (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
