On Saturday, 23 December 2017, in the evening at 22:38, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 128.70), a Ford Galaxy hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.46‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
