On Thursday, 4 July 2019, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 6.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Seat Toledo registered in France, a Schmitz Cargobull SPR24 registered in Belarus and a DAF FT XF105.460 registered in Belarus. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Seat (20 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. The 52-year-old driver of the DAF was drunk (2.47‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
