On Tuesday, 22 December 2020, in the evening at 19:15, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 135.30), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Toyota Verso and a BMW 730. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Toyota (22 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
