On Sunday, 2 July 2023, in the evening at 19:30, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi A6 and a Mazda 6. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk.
