Iveco truck hits a drunk pedestrian on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai road
On Tuesday, 16 July 2024, in the evening at 17:20, in Panevėžio district municipality, Berčiūnų village, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 8.43), an Iveco hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 62-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by a 62-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway in a built-up area outside a crossing where there is a median strip. He was drunk (2.68‰ blood alcohol).
