On Saturday, 26 October 2024, in the afternoon at 14:20, in Kauno district municipality, Akademijos town, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 6.21), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The accident was caused by the 43-year-old driver of the BMW (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. She fled the scene. All drivers were sober.
