Hit-and-run DAF truck driver and Audi crash on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda road
On Thursday, 17 April 2025, in the afternoon at 14:10, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 103.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF and an Audi A8. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the DAF (31 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
