On Monday, 23 June 2025, in the evening at 20:25, in Druskininkų municipality, Grūto village, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 122), an Opel Zafira hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 67-year-old driver of the Opel (43 years of driving experience). The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
