On Friday, 29 September 2017, in the morning at around 7:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 6), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved an Opel Insignia registered in Great Britain, a DAF XF 95.430 registered in Russia and a Schmitz Cargobull S.CS24-13.62 registered in Russia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Opel (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
