On Monday, 5 February 2018, in the evening at 17:37, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Šiauliai main road (kilometre 7.70), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved an Opel Vectra registered in Ukraine, a Krone SD and a Volvo FH. One person was injured — the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Opel (16 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
