Scania truck runs off the road on the Panevėžio aplinkkelis road
On Thursday, 7 September 2023, in the evening at 17:02, in Panevėžio district municipality, Nausodės village, on Panevėžio bypass, a Scania registered in Estonia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Scania (43 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
